Ignatian Contemplation is a form of ‘fantasy prayer’ as one meditates on the life of God. It is a powerful tool to help us to get in touch with our inner selves, revealing all our unconscious desires and motives for acting thus. More importantly, this form of prayer helps us to relate with Jesus on the level of feelings. It is thus helpful in making Jesus real to us, as a person, with flesh and blood, thereby enabling a personal and intimate relationship with Him. Ignatian Contemplation is also useful for spiritual direction, discernment of the spirits, practice of the awareness of God’s presence and most of all, for the inner healing of memories.
