We are living in a society that demands perfection and intolerant of mistakes. Indeed, we all seek justice and justice must be exercised and seen to be done. Justice is the minimum criterion of love and presupposes love. However, love goes beyond redressing justice. We need to build a more gracious society, one that is more compassionate, forgiving and tolerant. Only a compassionate heart can make a person magnanimous to forgive the debts of those who have unjust dealings with him. Compassion heals relationships but most of all compassion heals us. The source and strength of a compassionate heart can only come from God Himself.
